Speaking of an substance that contains its greatness from one place to the other side of the world, stretches to the peak, deepens down to the ocean floor, thus, it is humble, ordinary, and is a foundation that connects all substances and all of life in the whole world together. It is ‘ground’. The glimpse observes from one spot to another. The beauty bumped against sensory contacts is repetitively created from the tiniest elements flowing with the current of time with a breathing rhythm as its unit. As the short period of time resonates across the consciousness to become a reminder that we are not only a part but as a whole with every sense, every living creature, every substance in the universe. ‘Grounding’ by Noppanan Thannaree presents a perspective towards a simple ground where each falling petal of tiny flowers painted by seasons. On the natural body, the dark damped soil brightens infinite petals to illuminate as a star on ground. This is a special simple phenomenon that reminds the connection with nature and presence. As the current project has been ripening for 4 years of an interval of continuity as like rhythmical spaces in dotted line. Rather than the emptiness but the state of void; void of attachment, void of ego. It can consider this project is a continually hard working of these spaces among dotted lines connected linearly. หากจะเอ่ยถึงธาตุวัตถุ อันยิ่งใหญ่แผ่กว้างไพศาล จากที่หนึ่งไปอีกฟากทวีป สูงสุดยังยอดเขา ลึกสุดยังพื้นมหาสมุทร ถึงกระนั้นก็ยังคงน้อมถ่อมตัว เรียบง่ายสามัญ เป็นฐานรากเชื่อมโยงมวลสรรพสิ่ง สรรพชีวิตในโลกนี้เข้าไว้ด้วยกัน นั่นคือ ‘ผืนดิน’ สายตาที่กวาดมองไปจุดแล้วจุดเล่า ความงดงามที่เคลื่อนกระทบผัสสะการรับรู้ ล้วนเกิดจากอนูเล็กที่สุดที่เกิดขึ้นซ้ำแล้วซ้ำเล่าอย่างต่อเนื่อง ไหลไปกับกระแสธารแห่งเวลาที่วัดหน่วยเป็นจังหวะลมหายใจ จากห้วงเล็กๆที่สะท้อนกังวาลให้ตื่นรู้สู่หนึ่งเดียว ว่าเรามิใช่เป็นเพียงส่วนหนึ่ง (part) แต่คือหนึ่งเดียว (whole) กับทุกสรรพรส สรรพชีวิต สรรพสิ่งในจักรวาล ‘Grounding’ โดยนพนันท์ ทันนารี เป็นการนำเสนอมุมมองต่อผืนดินธรรมดาที่ฤดูกาลได้บรรเลงแต้มสีสัน ผ่านไม้ดอกเล็กๆที่ร่วงหล่นลงกลีบแล้วกลีบเล่า บนผืนผ้าใบเทหวัตถุธรรมชาตินี้ พื้นดินอันเข้มชื้น ขลับให้กลีบเกสรนับอนันต์ส่องประกายคล้ายดาวบนดิน เป็นปรากฏการณ์สามัญอันแสนพิเศษ ที่ชวนสะกิดให้ได้ระลึกถึงการเชื่อมต่อกับธรรมชาติและปัจจุบัน เปรียบดังเช่นผลงานชุดนี้ใช้เวลาบ่มเพาะกว่า 4 ปีที่เว้นระยะความต่อเนื่อง ราวกับเส้นประที่ถูกเว้นเป็นจังหวะ กระนั้นความว่างของเส้นประมิใช่ความว่างเปล่าแบบไม่มีอะไรเลย (empty) แต่เป็นสุญญะ สภาวะแห่งความไร้ซึ่ง (void of) ว่างจากสิ่งที่เราถือ ว่างจากตัวตน หากพิจารณาดังนี้แล้ว ผลงานชุดนี้คงเป็นการเพียรทำงานอย่างต่อเนื่องของพื้นที่ว่างในเส้นประเหล่านั้น ที่เชื่อมโยงกันเป็นเส้นอาณาหนึ่งเดียว Credit

Noppanan Thannaree, Chiangrai born artist, graduated with Thai Art both a Bachelor’s and a Master degree from the Faculty of Painting Sculpture and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn university.
In his early career, Noppanan’s body of work was mostly done in Chinese ink on paper. Some are monumental in scale and drawn intricately with his very own handmade bamboo pen. For him, the work process is a form of meditation. Drawing each and every blade of grass is a way to tune the mind into the presence.
Most of Noppanan’s inspiration stems from Zen and Buddhist philosophy.
His ideas are mostly concerned with nature. Through his work, he aims to bring a balance that enables him to find an ontological connection between man and the world around him. The ideas and philosophy behind his work have gone to shape his character and become an intrinsic part of who he is as an artist. In the later development of his career, Noppanan expands his philosophy beyond the boundary of a religious realm and starts to explore the universal law of nature. He continues to use nature as his main theme and further experiments with a variety of techniques to represent his new ideas.
Currently, Noppanan resides and works between his studios in Nakornpratom and Chiangrai province where he was born.
นพนันท์ ทันนารี เกิดที่จังหวัดเชียงราย จบการศึกษาในระดับปริญญาตรีและปริญญาโท สาขาวิชาศิลปะไทย ที่คณะจิตรกรรมประติมากรรม และภาพพิมพ์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร ปัจจุบันดำรงอาชีพศิลปินอิสระ
เมื่อจบการศึกษาในระยะแรก นพนันท์เริ่มต้นนำเสนอผลงานภาพเขียนหมึกจีนบนกระดาษที่ผ่านกระบวนการลากเส้นซ้ำๆ ด้วยเทคนิคปากกาไม้ไผ่ที่ประดิษฐ์ขึ้นเอง คล้ายกับการเจริญสติ สมาธิ ภาวนา โดยอาศัยรูปทรงจากต้นไม้ใบหญ้าและโครงสร้างหลักจากทิวทัศน์ทางธรรมชาติที่เรียบง่าย พื้นฐานความคิดส่วนใหญ่ของนพนันท์เริ่มต้นมาจากปรัชญาทางพุทธศาสนาและปรัชญาตะวันออก เป็นการเชื่อมโยงและปรับสมดุลระหว่างความเป็นตัวตนกับธรรมชาติ ซึ่งส่งผลต่อบุคลิกภาพและความคิดของเขา
ในเวลาต่อมานพนันท์ได้พยายามศึกษาและขยายขอบเขตของความคิดให้เป็นอิสระจากรูปแบบของลัทธิความเชื่อและศาสนา มุ่งเน้นให้ตัวงานจิตรกรรมของเขาแสดงออกไปในเชิงคุณค่าของปรัชญาและจิตวิญญานสากล โดยอาศัยรูปแบบและเนื้อหาจากธรรมชาติและเทคนิคทางด้านจิตรกรรมที่หลากหลายเป็นตัวนำเสนอ
ปัจจุบันนพนันท์สร้างสรรค์ผลงานจิตรกรรมอย่างต่อเนื่อง พำนักอยู่ที่จังหวัดนครปฐมและจังหวัดเชียงรายบ้านเกิดของเขา ตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ. 2556 จนถึงปัจจุบัน
