Nature presents us with tangible truths. However, while we interact with such truths through our senses, we instead interpret them with our abstract feelings. Such abstractions are compiled with our emotional depths to further enhance who we are, our “selves”, and how we view the world. Many of us are captivated by the exploration of these emotional depths — the depths of which we have been accumulating and over time have formed our unique selves. As we begin to peel off our pretenses and start to acknowledge our individual selves, we may also begin to feel blissful as our minds become pure and free. The simplicity of natural environments brings silence, calmness, and serenity, which allow for a process of self-exploration. Thus, when we deliberate the surrounding nature, we are also deliberating our minds. The process of reflection under an interplay between tangible truths and abstract emotions can bring forth a deliberation of our senses and of our minds. Here begins a mental journey of self-reflection. Wan and Navin give importance to the aesthetic of silence as it is a beginning of self-reflection, yet their works are created in regards to their different selves. Wan — The impression in the ephemeral moments of truths in nature are captured through photography. In a way, it presents the grandeur of nature, and in another, it accepts the temperament of time. Navin — Pigment, water, and paper are all products of nature, which are choreographed into unique aesthetics and incorporated with the self of its creator. The relationship between Wan’s and Navin’s works is a “Silent Dialogue” that invites serenity and reflection in the minds of the uniquely different audience. ธรรมชาตินำเสนอความจริงอันเป็นรูปธรรม แต่ครั้นความจริงนั้น ผ่านผัสสะของมนุษย์ ความรู้สึกอันเป็นนามธรรมจึงถือกำเนิดขึ้น เพื่อแปลความจากผัสสะ ก่อร่างสร้างเป็นนามธรรมของใจ และสั่งสม จนเป็น “ตน” ที่มีอัตลักษณ์พิเศษและแตกต่างจากผู้อื่น เป็น “ตน” ที่สัมผัสโลกผ่านมุมมองที่แตกต่างออกไป มนุษย์ส่วนหนึ่งหลงใหลการสำรวจความรู้สึกเบื้องลึกของตนเองที่ได้รับการสั่งสมและก่อร่างสร้างเป็น “ตน” ที่ไม่เหมือนใคร หลายครั้งเมื่อเรามีโอกาสได้ปอกเปลือกของใจทีละชั้น นำไปสู่แก่นของตัวตนภายในจิตใจ ทำให้รู้สึกถึงความปีติจากใจที่บริสุทธิ์และอิสระในการเลือกตอบสนองต่อประสบการณ์ที่พบเจอ ธรรมชาติอันเรียบง่ายย่อมเชื้อเชิญสภาวะแห่งความเงียบ ความสงบ และความสงัด ให้เข้ามาปกคลุมพื้นที่และกาลเวลา ซึ่งเป็นสภาวะสำคัญที่เอื้อต่อการสำรวจตัวตน ฉะนั้น การพิจารณา “ธรรมชาติ” จึงเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นพื้นฐานที่นำพาไปสู่การพิจารณา “ใจ” การสะท้อนไปมาภายใต้สภาพการณ์แห่งความคลุมเครือ ระหว่างความเป็นจริงที่เป็นรูปธรรมและนามธรรมของความรู้สึก จักนำความปราณีตและละเอียดอ่อนทางผัสสะให้กลับเข้ามาสู่จิตใจ กำเนิดเป็นพื้นที่ให้ใจได้ออกเดินทางสำรวจตัวตน ว่านและนาวินให้ความสำคัญต่อสุนทรีย์อันเกิดจากความเงียบ ความสงบ และความสงัดเพื่อเป็นบ่อเกิดแห่งการพิจารณาตัวตน ทั้งคู่สร้างสรรค์ผลงานของ “ตน” ในรูปแบบที่ต่างกัน ว่าน — ความประทับใจในสภาวะชั่วคราวของความจริงทางธรรมชาติ ถูกนำเสนอผ่านการถ่ายภาพ โดยนัยหนึ่งแสดงถึงการเป็น ส่วนหนึ่งของธรรมชาติอันยิ่งใหญ่และอีกนัยหนึ่ง คือการน้อมรับ ความไม่จีรังของห้วงเวลา นาวิน — สารสี น้ำ และกระดาษ ล้วนเป็นผลผลิตจากธรรมชาติ ซึ่งได้ถูกร้อยเรียงและนำเสนอสุนทรียะอันเป็นเอกลักษณ์ โดยมีตัวตนของผู้สร้างคอยทำงานร่วมกัน ปฏิสัมพันธ์ระหว่างรูปแบบการสร้างสรรค์ของศิลปินทั้งสองก่อให้เกิด“บทสนทนาในความเงียบ” ที่กระตุ้นสภาวะความสงบในใจ เพื่อพิจารณาความพิเศษในตัวตนของผู้เข้าชม Credit

Navin Tantanadaecha is playing the role of art educator and watercolorist who strongly believes in how nature and art are parts of a human being. From the exploration of the watercolor medium, he has discovered that its qualities encourage self-awareness and offer the freedom of living to him. In the meantime, the experience has also established the belief in the value of individuality in his mind, and also, the discovery has been cultivated the determination of enriching the self-exploring environment to the community.

Wan Chantavilasvong is currently a city planner and a researcher, who cherishes photography as her serious play. Her photography often portrays the similarities and differences of the natural environments and the lives of people in different parts of the world. The way she deliberately curates and arranges her work allows for her photographs to have both visual and meaningful interactions. Such dynamics engender a serene wholeness that frees thoughts and interpretations.
